There are very few works for violin and guitar and part of them, unfortunately, have already been forgotten. That is why the musicians who are attracted by the interesting combination of the two stringed instruments, do not have other choice but to perform mostly transcriptions of works for violin and piano. This is the approach of the violinist Jochen Brusch and the guitarist Finn Svit.
Jochen Brusch (Germany) has a varied professional activity. Along with his career as violinist, he works as pedagogue. He has organized a series of concerts dedicated to different composers from Baroque to modern times in Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Holland, France, Bulgaria, Switzerland, USA and others. Jochen Brusch reads lectures, conducts workshops and master classes in Italy, Germany, and Denmark; takes part in educational radio and TV programs. These professional quests helped him to meet another interesting musician - Finn Svit (Denmark). Like Brusch, he has devoted his talent and energy to social and musical activities: workshops, lectures, acting as jury member in prestigious guitar competitions in Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Bulgaria, Austria and others. Finn Svit has been conductor of long standing of a guitar orchestra in Jutland. He is founder and artistic director of the annual International Guitar Festival in Aalborg. At the same time he participates in different chamber ensembles all over Europe and often performs as a soloist.
The rich experience from concert and pedagogical activities helps the two musicians when they combine their efforts for the creation of co-productions. They perform transcriptions of compositions for violin and piano as well as for harpsichord and piano or other instruments. This way they form an exceptionally rich and varied repertoire.
